Many people are using Social Networking to stop by other members pages to drop off their business cards, fliers, banners and all sorts of marketing materials without ever introducing themselves to whom they consider to be a potential buyer of their product or service. This will create a buzz, but a negative buzz about you. If you and another member selling the same product are using the same bad technique and strategy then you will not only create a bad buzz about yourself, but the organization that is being represented also. This will prevent people from buying from you and it will also cause a hesitation for anyone else to get a sale or relationship if selling from that same company.
You want to create a positive buzz about you and your business, products and services. In order to create a positive buzz about you, your product or services, you should be polite to others, learn how to effectively social network. Make the most of blogs, forums and article writing. It’s important for others to know that you really do know your stuff. When people know that you know your stuff, they will listen to you and they will hear you. When people listen and hear you, this is the beginning of The Trust Factor being established. When people trust you, it is easy to establish relationship with them. These same people will buy from you and they will refer people to you if they can’t use your services and you will do vice versa.
I started creating a buzz about The Black Business Café by accident to a certain degree. I wanted people to know about The BBC and I was doing all the networking that I thought I needed to do to reach those that could possibly use what The BBC had to offer. I begin to set myself up online to get the word out. In looking back and tracking what I did to accomplish this, I realize that it was alot of work, however, I had alot of time on my hands also. Thank God that I am the Energizer Bunny..at least that is what my husband calls me. I have really learned alot about social networking and creating relationships from my experiences and so much more about making connections. I can really say that I have made some really great connections and some great relationships, which makes all the work well worth it and it will be well worth it for you also.
One should consider learning how to use social media and social networking to their benefit. If you learn how to effectively use networking to your advantage, a social networking event can work to your advantage also. We had to come up with ways to get people to know us and to make our presence for people to get to like us and trust us. Using Social Media and Social Networking is very important in growing your business online. There are videos on www.youtube.com that can help you learn how to use these tools for free.
By getting busy and effectively networking, the trust factor begin to grow for The BBC and so did the buzz. When trying to create a buzz and the trust factor, it can get a little discouraging at times, especially when it seems like you are not really making progress, but keep at it. You will be surprised, just like I was as to how many people that are really starting to know you or that are watching and following you. Sometimes you have to give a little more than what you are getting in return. Yes, I did do that. In the beginning I was just looking to build and establish relationships. Something that is important is learning how to really get to know people. I made it and still makes it my business to connect and find a way to connect with those that I want to connect with. Sometimes it takes a little longer than expected. You may experience the same things, but remember your labor don’t have to be in vain and will not be in vain if you learn how to be effective in creating relationships, creating buzz and establishing the Trust Factor in your connections.
In creating The BBC’s Social Networking Platform, people begin to know me and trust me because I gave them information that they could use. I kept it real with people and shared what I believed to be truth with them. I reached out to offer assistance to them. They got to know me and started to like me from the information that I was sharing. Then alot of them that were local were able to meet me face to face at The BBC’s Networking Events and for those that were not local or that could not make the events, we met and chatted on The BBC’s tele-conference calls. When people know you and start to read your material and find it truth and real they will start to trust what you are saying and look to you for that information.
You are probably wondering why do people need to trust you. If you are planning to do business or make connections with people, The Trust Factor is very important and plays a very important role in your relationship with others. Allow people to know that you can be trusted and that you are not a scam or a whimsy or fly by night business person. When people trust you, they will tell others about you.
My outcome from all of this was this. People started giving me names…I became The Grand Connector, The Serial Entrepreneur, The Master Networker, and the latest was The Social Networking Diva…I was like oh my goodness…Now which one do I accept, for I had not been out to get any of them. It was crazy. Anyway, I have said all of this just to allow you to know that you can create buzz for you and your business, but you must be effective in your social networking.
You can do this for free for yourself or you can find a mentor or you can locate a paid service to assist you. Either way, it can be done by you. The only thing is this. One way may take longer than another, but you can accomplish it.
So go out there and effectively network and create a buzz for yourself. Get people to know, like and trust you.
